Professional Distinction: Demonstrations, Exhibition, Instruction
Our Art Center is adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay and many of our artists have spent their lives working in the region and around the water. Many of the work produced is inspired by the bay and nature that surrounds us in the oyster trail region. From paintings of oysters, water men, deadrise work boats to hand forged oyster knives, our artist bring to life the regions beautiful nature and water heritage.
Being located in the Bay region and as a member of the Virginia Oyster Trail, many of our artists are inspired by our beautiful natural surroundings of the Chesapeake Bay Region. You will find works of art that depict the life of the water men, our boating, fishing and sea heritage. The oyster is one of the natural resources from our region that you will find featured in works of art. From paintings, photographs, prints, carvings and functional items like locally hand crafted, forged steel oyster knives, our artists capture the region across all media.
Our mission is to provide a multifaceted venue for area artists and artisans to gain exposure, network, collaborate and further their craft and in turn enhancing our community. We embrace all of the arts and mediums of expression.
